Courtney Love Does the Math →
syntheticpubes: This seminal editorial is from June 2000. Yeah, eight years ago. Back when Napster was still relevant. The numbers have probably changed a little, but everyone still needs to read this. Really great article that I’d never read. Would’ve never expected anything that coherent from Courtney Love.
Polyester: Sexual Kryptonite
dangurewitch: A scientist dressed 75 lab rats in polyester pantsuits, and found that they had sex significantly less often than rats dressed in cotton or wool. Amusing enough. More importantly, I would like to see a study that compares the sexual success of scientists who dress lab rats in polyester pantsuits to scientists who do not.
Also important - are these crotchless pantsuits?

jakoblodwick: I’m visiting my grandparents in Baltimore. I sat down at my grandfather’s iMac to do some work. I plugged in my iPhone to the UCB port. iTunes came up and my iPhone appears, but it won’t let me play any of my songs. This made me depressed for 2 seconds, until I remembered I have a Muxtape, which I opened in a new tab and started playing, immediately putting me in a great mood. ...

– Senate Approves Post-9/11 GI Bill
ok the context is interesting, because it could make my college education free. but what i want to remark on here is the use of the “word” incentivizes. What happened to motivates??? Incentivizes? Really? The things we do to the English language. ...

..Now I’m back on line and have the fun duty of figuring out the easiest way to transfer my ipod music into my itunes so they match up… I recommend iPod Access. I’ve inadvertently burned through a couple hard drives on my Powerbook in the last 6 months, and it has totally saved me. It will even pull the music off of your iPhone, should you need it to. Best of luck-

John Edwards is endorsing Obama →
zetahydrae:
So there’s no way to spin this so that Hillary Clinton can still win, right? Right?
Former Democratic presidential nominee John Edwards will endorse Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday at a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, according to Obama’s campaign.
That’s about as ironclad as it gets. Can we let this campaign trail die yet? I’d like for us to finally get somewhere as a...
